MAVX Productions has officially begun filming its latest feature film, “HB2ME (Happy Birthday To Me)”, an action-comedy directed by Veronica Velasco and slated for nationwide theatrical release on August 19, 2026.
The film stars acclaimed actor John Arcilla alongside award-winning young actor Elijah Canlas, with Alexa Miro, Criza Taa, and a strong ensemble cast joining the project.
“HB2ME (Happy Birthday To Me)” centers on a seemingly ordinary birthday celebration that quickly spirals into chaos, leading its characters into an unpredictable and high-stakes journey. Blending fast-paced action with absurd comedic situations, the film also promises heartfelt and emotional moments—hallmarks of MAVX’s signature storytelling style.
Production is currently underway, with the film shot almost entirely in Pampanga, utilizing the province’s dynamic locations to bring the story to life.
MAVX Productions continues to build its reputation as one of the Philippines’ most active and globally competitive film studios, known for delivering commercially successful films that combine fresh, out-of-the-box concepts with strong emotional resonance. With a growing slate of theatrical and internationally distributed titles, the studio remains committed to telling Filipino stories that connect with audiences both locally and worldwide.
“HB2ME (Happy Birthday To Me)” is expected to deliver a unique cinematic experience that blends action, comedy, and heart—continuing MAVX’s tradition of creating films that entertain while leaving a lasting emotional impact.
MAVX Productions officially marks a major milestone as it ventures into animation with the big-screen adaptation of “Combatron,” the iconic Pinoy Komiks character created by Berlin Manalaysay.
The project stems from a partnership agreement signed several years ago between Berlin Manalaysay and MAVX Productions CEO Erwin Blanco, aimed at bringing the beloved IP to life through a full-length animated feature film.
First introduced in Filipino komiks, Combatron has long been a recognizable and beloved character among generations of readers. With its transition to animation, MAVX aims to reintroduce the character to a new generation while preserving the heart and humor that made it a fan favorite.
The upcoming film is expected to blend action, comedy, and emotional storytelling—hallmarks of MAVX’s signature style—creating a family-friendly cinematic experience that resonates with both young audiences and longtime fans.
MAVX Productions is currently planning to submit “Combatron” as an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival, positioning the film as a major holiday release aimed at families and younger viewers.
With its strong nostalgic value, recognizable IP, and emotionally driven storytelling, the film is expected to be a standout contender during the Christmas season—one of the most competitive and commercially significant windows in Philippine cinema.
